Communication Process

This project involved collaborative fine-tuning between HIPINS and the client to achieve the intended visual impact.

  1. Revision on Gradient Background
The client requested a key adjustment:
“Thanks for the update! Let’s change the gradient glitter background of the bottom pin to gradient pearl, please.”
Our team quickly updated the sample with gradient pearl enamel, which offered a smoother and more elegant transition compared to glitter. This change elevated the background effect, making it feel more in line with the overall design.
  2. Clarification on Sample Accuracy
When reviewing samples, the client noticed an inconsistency:
“It looks like the wrong sample was polished. This one is missing the fixed screenprint. Can you send pics and video of the newest sample with fixed screenprint?”
HIPINS acknowledged the oversight and immediately provided updated sample photos and a video under controlled lighting. This gave the client reassurance about the corrected screen printing on the characters’ faces and hair.

By providing transparency and quick visual confirmations, HIPINS ensured the client felt confident moving forward with mass production.

Post-Production and Client Feedback

Production proceeded smoothly once the final gradient and screen printing were approved. The steps included:

  • Mold Cutting: Dual molds were created to achieve the layered arch and character separation.
  • Enamel Filling: Gradient pearl was applied to the arch background, producing subtle tonal transitions.
  • Special Effects: Gradient diamond powder was selectively used for added sparkle, particularly on the decorative elements.
  • Screen Printing: Applied for intricate details such as facial expressions, clothing accents, and shadows.
  • Assembly: Top and bottom layers were securely connected to form the final dual-layer structure.
  • QC & Packing: Every pin underwent strict quality checks for enamel fill, gradient consistency, and screen print clarity.

When the final shipment arrived, the client expressed their satisfaction:
“The gradient pearl looks fantastic, and the corrected screenprint really brings the characters to life. Thanks for ensuring everything matched the art proof.”

The finished Link Click Arch pin became a collector favorite due to its complexity, craftsmanship, and limited-run exclusivity.

FAQs

1. What’s the difference between gradient glitter and gradient pearl finishes?
Gradient glitter reflects more light for a sparkling effect, while gradient pearl provides a softer, shimmering tone with smoother transitions. Both are excellent, but pearl is often chosen for elegance.

2. Can HIPINS provide sample photos and videos before mass production?
Yes. We regularly share high-resolution photos and videos of corrected samples to ensure clients have full confidence before greenlighting production.

3. Why use dual-layer construction for enamel pins?
Dual layers add dimensionality and allow for complex storytelling, with characters elevated from the background to create a scene rather than a flat image.
