Rapunzel is a high-end enamel pin design created by HIPINS for Client 563. This 4-inch (approximately 100 mm) pin features a stunning fantasy illustration of Rapunzel in a richly detailed pose, with long flowing hair adorned with intricate floral elements and mystical gems. Designed as a collectible art piece, the pin pushes the boundaries of traditional enamel pinmaking, both in scale and complexity.

Crafted with hard enamel + printing technology and raised gold metal plating, this piece was designed to balance durability and fine detail. The front side integrates a wide variety of color techniques:

• Pearl enamel in swirl and no-swirl variants for dynamic visual texture
• Clear glitter on the hair and dress to enhance magical elements
• Translucent enamel (sandblast) on decorative glass sections
• Gradient screen printing for realistic shading and dimension

The design also includes UV spot printing on key areas like the eyes, lips, and jewelry, adding photorealistic detail while preserving the handmade feel.

To ensure premium construction, the pin used a 3.0 mm thick zinc alloy mold, giving it a substantial feel. Three pin posts were used on the back to support its larger size, with rubber clutches for secure fastening. The reverse side includes a custom backstamp featuring the collection name, Rapunzel, and the inscription “KNOT OF SUNLIGHT – ART BY SHICHIGEN.”

The packaging was also carefully considered. Each pin was placed in a PVC zip bag, layered with bubble wrap, to ensure it arrived in perfect condition despite its size and intricate build.

The quality team verified that the translucent sections remained crisp and that the printing layers were aligned properly with the metal mold.
