In this featured project, we collaborated with a valued client to bring to life a uniquely evocative enamel pin inspired by tarot symbolism—The Hanged Man. This oversized hard enamel pin blends narrative intensity, anime-style artistry, and Art Nouveau elegance, achieving a product that resonates with both spiritual symbolism and visual allure.
Measuring 3.78 inches tall by 2.02 inches wide, this pin was designed for collectors seeking more than decoration—a wearable meditation on perspective and transformation.
Pin Design Details
- Reflects the tarot archetype of “The Hanged Man”
- Uses rich colors and floral motifs
- Features premium finishing, including gold plating and screen-printed details

- Includes a custom backstamp and deluxe packaging
They requested a hard enamel + printing combination to maintain both visual intricacy and long-lasting quality, with UV gradient and pearl effects to enhance the spiritual, ethereal vibe.
Crafting Process
Artwork & Concept Finalization
The illustration was set in a vertical tarot card format, with the central character inverted and suspended by black chains—mirroring the tarot meaning of surrender and insight through discomfort. Lilies blooming at the top symbolized purity amidst turmoil, enhanced by cascading petals throughout the design.
Mold Development & Size Precision
We developed a custom mold at 3.0 mm thickness for optimal sturdiness and detail retention. Particular care was taken to maintain the flowing curves of the character’s hair and the sharpness of the floral frame.
Enamel & Printing
This pin utilized hard enamel, polished flat to a mirror-like finish. The color palette was PMS-matched and enriched with:
- Gradient transitions (red to pink background)
- Pearl powder accents for added depth
- Screen-printed black chains across the body for sharp contrast
Metalwork & Plating
We applied gold plating, a classic choice to contrast the dark chains and warm colors. The lines were raised and polished, enhancing the Art Nouveau influences in the ornamental frame.
Backside & Packaging
The reverse features a custom-designed backstamp, incorporating “RUTIWA TAROT” and the maker’s emblem. Each pin was affixed with 4 rubber clutches for secure wear, and individually packed in PVC bags with bubble wrap to ensure pristine delivery.

From concept to completion, communication with the client was proactive and design-driven. The client was involved in each stage of sampling, approving variations in enamel finish and chain print placement.
