Communication Process

One of the defining aspects of this project was the trust and efficiency between the client and HIPINS. The client, having worked with us before, submitted their final artwork along with plating and effect preferences, and expressed complete confidence in our manufacturing expertise.

Workflow Highlights:

  1. Day 1 – Artwork Submission
The client provided vector-based artwork with precise Pantone references and clear instructions on where to apply glitter, pearlescent, and transparent enamel effects.
  2. Day 2 – Proof Generation
HIPINS prepared the full production proof, including the gold plating layout, enamel color callouts, effect placement, and pin back structure.
  3. Day 3 – Production Approval
Without any request for revisions, the client approved the proof, allowing us to move directly into mold production.

This kind of trust-based workflow significantly shortens lead time while ensuring the final product aligns perfectly with the client’s expectations.

Post-Production and Client Feedback

The Starlite pins underwent a rigorous multi-step production process:

  • Mold Cutting & Polishing: A high-precision mold was created for crisp outlines, and the gold-plated areas were polished to a high shine.
  • Enamel Filling: Glitter and pearlescent enamel fills were applied in multiple layers, each heat-cured to ensure smooth, even surfaces.
  • Printing Details: Fine line printing was used to enhance facial features, eyes, and intricate markings.
  • Final Finish: The transparent sandblast effect added a subtle frosted texture in select areas, increasing visual interest.
  • Quality Control: Every pin was hand-inspected for color accuracy, plating consistency, and post alignment before being packed.

When the shipment arrived, the client’s feedback was both simple and gratifying:

“Perfect execution. The glitter and pearlescent effects are beautiful. Couldn’t have asked for more.”

The pins were quickly listed on the client’s store and gained attention among collectors for their clean execution and vivid, layered effects.

FAQs

1. Can HIPINS combine multiple special effects like glitter, pearlescent, and transparent enamel in one pin?
Yes. HIPINS can layer multiple effects in a single design, strategically placing them to enhance depth, highlight details, and create visual variety.

2. Do I need to approve a physical sample before production?
For returning clients or those confident in their design files, production can proceed directly from the proof. However, we do offer pre-production samples upon request.

3. What is the advantage of using sandblast effects with transparent enamel?
Sandblasting beneath transparent enamel creates a frosted look that diffuses light, making the color appear softer and adding a tactile texture.

4. How durable are glitter and pearlescent enamel effects?
Both glitter and pearlescent enamels are heat-cured during production, making them as durable as standard enamel fills. When properly cared for, these effects will retain their shine and vibrancy for years without fading or peeling.
