Why Choose 3D Metal Relief?
3D metal relief adds sculpted height, depth, and contour to custom pins, transforming flat artwork into a more dimensional metal design. Pins FAQ
Explore sculpted contours, casting, metal finishes and artwork requirements for your 3D relief pin.
How is 3D Metal Relief made?
We use zinc-alloy die casting to form sculpted contours in one metal body. Casting describes how the pin is made; relief describes its rounded forms and height transitions.
How does relief differ from die-struck and layered pins?
Standard die-struck designs use defined raised and recessed levels; 3D relief adds gradual contours. Pin-on-Pin uses separate stacked pieces rather than one sculpted body.
Can relief cover the whole pin and include fine text?
Relief can cover selected areas or the whole front alongside flat text and borders. Fine details need enough space to stay readable, so we review them at the finished size.
Do I need to supply a finished 3D model?
No; send clear artwork and references showing the intended depth and contours. The proof should identify raised areas, transitions and flat details for your review.
Which metal finishes make the relief stand out?
Antique finishes emphasize recessed shadows, while polished finishes create bright highlights on raised contours. Choose the finish to suit the detail and contrast you want.
Can 3D relief include enamel, printing and cutouts?
Enamel, printing, Surface Texture and Cutouts can be combined with the relief. Mark their intended locations so we can plan the sculpted and decorated areas together.
Does 3D Metal Relief need a dedicated mold?
We use a dedicated 3D steel mold for the approved sculpted design. Changes to contours or height should be settled before tooling, as later changes may require mold work.
How is the finished 3D relief checked?
We compare the finished relief with the approved artwork to check the intended 3D effect. Checks also cover contour definition, surface finish, edges and backing placement.
