Creates a clear, polished surface that gives the pin a smooth and refined appearance.

  • Added Surface Protection

Helps protect enamel, printing, and decorative details from minor scratches and everyday wear.

  • Enhanced Color & Depth

The transparent coating makes colors appear richer while adding extra visual depth to the artwork.

  • Slightly Raised Effect

Creates a subtle domed surface that gives the pin a softer, more dimensional appearance.

  • Works with Multiple Techniques

Pins FAQ

Explore resin coverage, gloss, clarity and care before adding Epoxy Coating to your custom pin.

How does Epoxy Coating differ from hard enamel?

Epoxy is a clear two-part resin applied over a finished surface and cured with heat. Hard enamel is the colored fill polished flush with the metal, not a clear topcoat.

Which pin surfaces can receive Epoxy Coating?

Epoxy can be applied over enamel, printed artwork and plated metal. We review the surface shape and intended coating area to plan coverage for your particular design.

Can I coat selected areas or a pin with cutouts?

Full or partial coverage can be planned, but cutouts and sculpted areas affect how resin settles. Mark the areas to coat so we can assess their shape and boundaries.

Will epoxy change the thickness or appearance of my pin?

Epoxy adds a smooth, glossy, raised layer; there is no single standard thickness. Reflections and added visual depth can change how underlying colors appear.

Will Epoxy Coating turn yellow over time?

We use yellowing-resistant resin, but this does not mean permanent clarity under every condition. Avoid prolonged sunlight and heat, and flag special exposure needs.

How should I care for an epoxy-coated pin?

The coating can still be scratched or marked by rough contact. Wipe with a soft cloth, store pins separately and avoid sharp objects, abrasive cleaners and prolonged moisture.

How is the finished Epoxy Coating inspected?

We visually check clarity, coverage, bubbles, trapped dust, overflow, uneven edges and surface ripples. The coating area is also compared with the approved design.
