Why Choose Stained Glass Effect?
Stained glass effect adds a transparent, light-passing appearance to custom enamel pins, creating a unique window-like look inspired by real stained glass art. Unlike standard enamel styles, the colored sections are suspended within the metal framework without a full metal backing, giving the pin a more delicate, artistic, and visually striking finish.

Custom Stained Glass
Pins FAQ
Plan translucent openings, metal supports and color choices for your custom stained-glass pin.
How does the Stained Glass Effect differ from Translucent Enamel?
The Stained Glass Effect fills openings that pass through the metal, allowing light through the color. Translucent Enamel has a solid metal base beneath the fill.
How does lighting change the stained-glass appearance?
Backlighting makes the colored sections look brighter, while dark backgrounds make them look deeper. The effect transmits light and does not produce its own light.
How small can the translucent openings be?
Allow at least 8 × 8 mm for a translucent opening. Metal borders, support bridges and the backing area must remain strong enough, so some layouts need adjustment.
Which enamel styles and effects can it be combined with?
The effect can be used with hard, soft or 3D enamel constructions. Opaque enamel, printing and glitter can be combined with selected light-transmitting sections.
Can stained-glass colors match my Pantone references?
Provide Pantone codes as color targets. Fill depth, background and lighting affect the visible shade, so a digital proof cannot show the final optical effect exactly.
Do stained-glass pins need a clear or epoxy coating?
An extra clear coating is optional; without it, the filled areas remain recessed. Specify whether you prefer that recess or an added Epoxy Coating.
How is the Stained Glass Effect checked before packing?
We inspect structural strength, color, light transmission and cracks, including the metal borders and support bridges. Filled sections are reviewed under transmitted light.
